Upcoming Film: Bright Star (Fall 2009)

I learned of this movie through Maria Grazia’s blog and want to see it SOOOOOOO badly.

It’s based on the three-year romance between 19th century poet John Keats and Fanny Brawne, which was cut short by Keats’ untimely death at age 25.

  2. Just by seeing this trailer, I think this movie will become one of my favorites. I’ve heard of John Keats but I never really read any of his poems. I think I’ll go read some now.

    • Same here. I think I’ll enjoy the movie so much. Tell me how you like his poems. Maybe I’ll just buy a book of poems by him…you know, get to know this poet better, before watching the movie about him

  3. yay! new movie to watch!!

I’ve read some Keats before…they’re pretty good, I think one his poems is actually called Bright Star..

Let’s see…I read, “La Belle Dame Sans Merci”, “Ode on a Grecian Urn”, “Ode to a Nightengale”, anndddd “When I Have Fears I May Cease to Be”

Fears is my fav and I think its the most relevant to the movie. It’s about him dying young and not being to finish his work and losing his love. But, then I think it can be related to the world in the larger aspect (esp. aspiring authors) about having so much to say but not enough time to do it.

Sorry, lol, I may have went overboard ther *English Major*

hmmmm i kind want to make a movie now…don’t know squat about movie making but it seems like it would be fun

    • Oh please, do make a movie. All of us HR writers should have a trailer. Then I can collect it all on one entry and post it up on my blog.

I’ll check out those titles you listed. If you say you liked them, I’m sure I will too. Hopefully.

Really looking forward to Campion’s Bright Star when it hits theaters this fall. It’s great to see her back in the director’s chair, and the visuals of the film look stunning. If you haven’t seen the official poster, you can find it here: http://www.brightstar-movie.com/
